A music theatre piece performed by the Core Ensemble, cello, piano, percussion and actor. Scenes from the life of Wilma Mankiller, the first woman Chief of the Cherokee Nation, activist during the Occupation of Alcatraz and leader in the land compensation struggles of indigenous people; music from popular and classical traditions. Actor Rosa Rodriguez portrays Wilma Mankiller. She blazed a trail for women and Native Americans leaving an enduring impact on generations to come. Reception to follow the program; free will offering to benefit St. Andrew’s outreach programs.
