It all began in 2011, with the "9 Arch Mural Project," located at 1000 Lake Avenue. It was the first of dozens of murals painted as a part of the LULA Lake Worth Arts Mural Project. This initiative was implemented to create paid opportunities for local artists, highlight local talent and help beautify unsightly buildings within the CRA district. The LULA Mural Project is a multifaceted project designed to strengthen the community and create art-based educational sessions using live art
In 2017, the CRA collaborated with CANVAS Outdoor Museum™, the nation’s largest outdoor museum show. With the help of CANVAS, Lake Worth Arts brought together some of the world’s most innovative contemporary artists, collectors, and art influencers. Championing art in public places, the CANVAS event transformed landscapes into an interactive art experience, activating spaces and engaging with the city from concept to completion.
Late in 2018, the first annual FOCUS event took place in downtown Lake Worth Beach. Event goers experienced a full week of
multidisciplinary art throughout the City, watching as murals transformed downtown, through west village.

Building on the Mural Program’s momentum, the CRA created the FOCUS event encouraging residents and visitors to experience a full week of multidisciplinary art throughout the City. This event helped paint 10 additional murals throughout downtown and the Dixie Highway corridor.
