Located  on the north side of the Lake Worth Bridge, adjacent to the Municipal Golf Course, is the Snook Island Natural Area is a 545-foot boardwalk winding around the southernmost island with a covered observation platform including benches at the end of the boardwalk, creating a spot to watch birds and fish foraging around the mangroves and sea grasses.

The CRA and the City of Lake Worth’s goal, through the Bicycle Network Plan, is to accommodate current bicycle use and to encourage increased use of bicycling in the future. Hence bicycle planning should be oriented toward meeting the needs of current and potential bicyclists using the roadway system. Eight miles of new bike lanes have been added to aid two-wheeled travel on roads leading north and south from Lake and Lucerne avenues.

Kayaking the Lake Worth Lagoon is a great way to get closer to our local natural ecosystem. The City of Lake Worth borders 4 miles on the Lake Worth Lagoon. This valuable urban estuary is separated from the Atlantic Ocean by barrier islands. Two permanent, man-made inlets, the Lake Worth Inlet and the South Lake Worth Inlet, make it possible for saltwater to mix with freshwater from canals.

Lake Worth contains a bounty of public parks and open space. The Municipal Beach is one of the last remaining large tracts of open, public space on the ocean in southeast Florida. The City Pier, jutting into the Atlantic, is a recognizable symbol of the city; much of it was destroyed by Hurricane Frances in 2004, but has since been rebuilt and raised 5 feet (1.5 m). In 2012, the Snook Islands Recreation Boardwalk and Fishing Pier is scheduled for completion, where county residents will have access to Lake Worth and the Intracoastal Waterway for fishing and nature walks to view the mangroves and manatees.

There are two very exciting projects underway at the Lake Worth Beach! The Beach Improvements Project covers improvements to parking, vehicular traffic, and the beachside park. The Casino Rehabilitation Project involves the design and rehabilitation of the historic Lake Worth Municipal Casino Building. The city's public swimming pool has been restored, and besides serving to instruct Palm Beach County residents in swimming and water safety, hosts water-sport competitions.

Located at One 7th Ave. North the Lake Worth Golf Course and Pro Shop has been in business since 1927.  The golf course is comprised of a unique old Florida design with a scenic 6,100 yard, par-70 course located along 1.2 miles of the Intracoastal Waterway.
